Apparently Geoff Johns has a thing for red-heads and particularly red-heads that swim. Mera (Aquaman's wife) is everywhere in the DCU these days. She plays a major role in DC's flagship books, BLACKEST NIGHT and BRIGHTEST DAY. She has two action figures from DC Direct. The Queen of Atlantis also appeared on BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD. Now, Mera will appear on SMALLVILLE with her husband Aquaman.
Mera makes her live-action debut on “Smallville” in October, this from Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly. Apparently, when Aquaman appears again, he’ll have already married his extra-dimensional sweetheart. Mera is being played by Elena Satine, a Russian-born actress known stateside for stints in “Melrose Place."

Laura Vandervoort from SMALLVILLE is one Sexy Supergirl
Smallville began it's 10th and final season last week. For the few still watching Smallville much discussion has taken place about the final season. Will Clark finally put on the suit? Will he actually fly? Will the world finally see Superman? How will Darkseid be portrayed? Will Lois and Clark finally get together? Hopefully for the Smallville faithful these questions and many others will be answered by season end.
Now, we can move past the details of the show and focus on the important aspects of the Superman mythology - such as Supergirl. The CW sent out some new pictures of Laura Vandervoort looking fantastically sexy as Supergirl. She is obviously going to make an appearance during the final season of Smallville . Maybe the network finally realized (albeit too late) how to increase male viewers to this show. Enjoy Laura's photos from the show as well as a few others I threw in for your enjoyment (and mine).

First Look at the Comic Book Version of Chloe Sullivan
In a move that has been long awaited by fans of the Smallville
TV show, DC Comics is finally letting the character of Chloe Sullivan appear somewhere outside the Smallville universe. Chloe will be appearing in the pages of the JIMMY OLSEN co-feature in ACTION COMICS by writer Nick Spencer and artist R.B. Silva, starting next week. But is she the same Chloe Sullivan Smallville viewers have grown to love (or hate)?
The transition to comics comes as Allison Mack's character makes her exit from the TV show (she'll only be on a handful of episodes this season). But Chloe Sullivan will also have to update her bio, as her character history will be re-written for the DC Comics Universe.
In the Smallville TV Show, Chloe Sullivan has morphed into a super tech and computer expert. The problem in the DC Universe is that Barbara Gordon's Oracle already fills that role. So instead, Chloe Sullivan will become a reporter, because the DC Universe apparently doesn't have enough reporters currently.
In an interview with TV Guide, Spencer said "It's a pretty different continuity, which I think has always been the challenging part of bringing Chloe into the DC Comics Universe," Spencer says. "She's never existed in the comics before, so in order to make a part of Clark's life when he was a teenager in Smallville, you'd have to do it somewhat retroactively, and it would age Chloe as a character a lot, since Superman is well past that part of his life in the books."
Chloe will mainly appear with Jimmy Olsen, who she married in the Smallville TV show. While they won't be married in the comic book, Spencer says that "she and Jimmy have a previous relationship and that causes him to embark on a huge adventure that takes him across space and alternate realities to prove something to himself and her."
Good lord that sounds horrible, but we are admitted Chloe Sullivan haters. For you Chloe lovers out there, is this what you were hoping for when you first heard she was headed to the comic book world?

Smallville: Official Detailed Description of Season 10 (Return of Pa Kent & the Darkseid Invasion)
In the midst of this turmoil, a new danger will emerge as a dark force takes on many faces, threatening Clark at every turn. Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort), and Jonathan Kent (John Schneider), Clark's late, adopted father - forever and always Clark's moral compass, will stand by Clark's side as he takes his final steps toward accepting his birthright. He will need all the help he can get to fight the impending evil onslaught...the greatest darkness ever unleashed on Earth.
The season ten premiere, "Lazarus," opens mere seconds after last season's finale. Clark Kent wakes from his near-death experience, haunted by the ghosts of his past, both friend and foe. Given a new lease on life, Clark must find a way to rid himself of every last temptation, to purge himself of every last shard of doubt in his heart before he can become the beacon of hope the world needs. But a very real threat from Clark's past has returned to challenge his ascent, causing Clark to question the nature of his crusade.
Lois Lane will face her own crisis of meaning, trying to redefine her place in the world now that she knows Clark's super secret - but Clark won't discover that she knows, and that's the way she wants to keep it. Lois will try her best to keep the mild-mannered reporter at arms' length in the hopes that a life free of romantic complication will make him a better hero.
Struggling with her own affairs of the heart, Chloe Sullivan will be faced with an impossible question - how much is she truly willing to sacrifice to protect the people she loves? Chloe will take a tumultuous step into danger for the greater good, the hands of Fate, her only guide.
When Chloe vanishes, Oliver Queen will be forced to look long and hard at the circumstances behind it. Blaming himself for her disappearance, Oliver will begin exploring accountability for all his past actions, good and bad - what great lengths will Oliver go to in order to bring his lost love back home?
Having risked her own life in an attempt to become accountable for her own misguided actions, no one is more surprised than Tess Mercer when she wakes, alive and well, in a seemingly abandoned medical facility. But what secrets lie in wait in the recesses of "Cadmus Labs"? And how much is Tess willing to give up to seize her second chance at redemption?
Lastly, Two guest stars have been revealed for the third season 10 episode of Smallville titled "Supergirl" if not sooner. Michael Daingerfield will be playing Gordon Godfrey in the upcoming season and Steve Byers will be playing Darkseid minion Desaad.

SMALLVILLE Selects Hawkgirl and Deadshot Actors
Smallville is continuing to do what we want the most - more DCU characters. If he ain't gonna fly or wear the suit (which is going to change - please make it so) you have to give me lots of characters within the DCU to wet my appetite. To it's credit, Smallville has interject many characters over the last few years: Green Arrow, Aqualad, Flash, Steel, Doomsday and a few JSU characters.
Kryptonsite.com has reported that actors have been cast as notable DC characters Floyd Lawton and Shayera – AKA Deadshot and Hawkgirl.
Playing Shayera will be Sahar Biniaz, a beauty pageant contestant who Kryptonsite notes had small roles in three previous Smallville episodes and in Watchmen. It's not clear if we'll see Shayera's Hawkgirl alter-ego in the episode she appears in, "Shield", which is the second of the season. That episode will also feature Michael Shanks reprising his role as Carter Hall, AKA Hawkman. Also still in question is whether Shayera will appear in the present or only in flashbacks. The character was previously referred to in the two-hour "Absolute Justice" episode, which introduced the Justice Society.
"Shield" will also introduce Deadshot, played by Bradley Stryker. Fans of The OC may remember Stryker as the first actor to play Ryan's brother, Trey, in Season 1 (Logan Marshall-Green played Trey in later appearances). Stryker also played a soldier on the first few episodes of Stargate Universe.
