Tony Sims of Wired recently posted about Dorling Kindersley’s attempt to break the world record for the largest Lego Mosaic in London.
The bricks have been counted and the size of the mosaic has been measured, and it has been confirmed that DK and the LEGO Group have broken a Guinness World Record for the largest image built with interlocking plastic bricks, to celebrate the launch of the latest in DK’s LEGO Brickmaster Books series!
Nearly 2000 visitors, young and old came along to help build this fantastic creation, and with the help and guidance from the Brickish Association and DK team, the mosaic was finished in at lunchtime on Monday, October 25th.
Congrats to DK, Lego and all the volunteers that assisted in building this beautiful masterpiece. Now if I could get some volunteers to help me put together my sons Lego Death Star.

Green Lantern High-Tech Lego Power Battery Make the Guardians Proud
Justjon (real name Jon Lazar) has constructed an operational Green Lantern power battery from Legos. I'ver seen a lot of cool sh#t built out of legos (thank you internet) but this one may take the cake. It's plain awesome and damn original.
Jon's power ring uses RFID technology to communicate with the Lego lantern in much the same way that a lot of security locks and megastores use it to open doors or track merchandise. In this instance, though, it's a lovely piece of technological overkill.
"The power battery was done from start to finish, including all of the electronics, over the course of a month" Jon told Comics Allaince.
So how true was Jon to the original design when constructing the power battery?
Concerning future plans, Jon says, "I do plan to build more comic book "props" out of Lego and am currently trying to decide what will be next. Since I've done a major DC one, I think a Marvel related one is likely to be next."
Jon says he is also always looking for new ideas, so why don't you leave some suggestions for him?

"When building the power battery, I veered from the actual design in two places. The first is the handle. Hal Jordan lifts the lantern with a handle that runs off its sides, but the weight of Lego and the lack of strength of the handle seemed like a poor idea in case someone got the idea lift it by the handle. The second design change was to add a Green Lantern symbol in the front of the Lantern so it would glow when the lights fade in and out."You can see a quick demonstration of the power battery in use below. The battery has already made an appearance at the World Maker Faire and may be appearing in other venues soon.

Alan Moore's KILLING JOKE in Lego!
Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's chilling 1988 graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke—which reminded us the Joker wasn't just a joke, but rather a homicidal maniac—is considered by many to be the greatest Joker story ever told. But who ever thought it could be just as chilling retold with LEGOs?
How influential was The Killing Joke? Heath Ledger was given a copy to help him create his character for The Dark Knight. And this presentation of the Joker's famous final speech from the graphic novel—just as tense with LEGOs as on the page—will show you why.
Check it out below.

LEGO Wedding Ring
Now this guy has a loving and pretty cool wife. People who are in to LEGOs obviously have a bit of a creative streak in them. We've all seen an amazing LEGO creation at some point that blew us away. But this wedding ring is pretty damn sweet, especially since its a base that you can attach any LEGO brick to. Its the ultimate accessory. We want now.

'Logan's Run' Movie Built out of Legos
How many of you have actually heard of the movie Logan's Run
?
It is is a novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson. Published in 1967, it depicts a dystopic ageist future society in which both population and the consumption of resources are maintained in equilibrium by requiring the death of everyone reaching a particular age. The story follows the actions of Logan, a Sandman charged with enforcing the rule, as he tracks down and kills citizens who "run" from society's lethal demand — only to end up "running" himself.
In 1976, Logan's Run
was turned into a movie starring Michael York, Richard Jordan, Jenny Agutter, Peter Ustinov, and Farrah Fawcett. The movie opened with mixed reviews but has since grown into a cult classic and scifi masterpiece.
If you have not seen the movie you really should take the time to watch it. It's a good movie hat has been rumored for a long time to be remade into a big budget film.
Keith Goldman has transformed the sexy party dystopia of Logan's Run into a massive Lego diorama; scenes from the film are interspersed in the nooks and crannies. His creations are awesome! The attention to detail is second to none.

Finally, It's Good to Be Me (And Maybe You!)
About time the ladies realized we are the true men of this planet. All you dicks out there that picked on me growing up for our comic books, lack of interest in sports, good grades, weird t-shirts, packed lunches, obsession with role playing games, Lego craftsmanship, glasses, Commodore 64 and Apple IIe skills, etc. can kiss my ASS! Plus, I'm wealthy - TAKE THAT! Well, hello ladies!

Pixar Animator Angus MacLane’s Lego “CubeDudes” are Wonderful
Just when you think you've seen everything their is to see with Legos (Futurama, Minifigure Tattoos, Batmobile, Star Wars, Superheros) you stumble upon an amazing original creation.
Pixar animator Angus MacLane is an incredible artist that use these bricks to create what he calls “Cube Dudes”: culture icons made from Lego.
Enjoy this great collection and the flickr group.
