Jessica spent her afternoon browsing around a few boutiques, but she also took time to address International Women’s Day on Twitter. She wrote about her passion that all girls receive an education and gave a shout out to organizations acknowledging the good work females are doing around the globe. The mom-to-be is back in California after a multi-city tour of the East Coast, where she and her daughter Honor celebrated reading in Washington, DC before they went to NYC to join Cash Warren for city walks and a tour of some culinary hot-spots.

CBI to question Kanimozhi before March 31

2G scam: Kanimozhi to be questioned by CBI.
Kanimozhi - a DMK MP and daughter of Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi - will be questioned by the CBI before March 31 in connection with the 2G spectrum scam, well informed sources said Thursday.

"Her questioning is imminent. Kanimozhi will be questioned before March 31," a top Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official told IANS.

The CBI sources said Kanimozhi would be summoned for questions related to the flow of over Rs.200 crore from Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa's DB Realty firm to Kalaignar TV, a regional Tamil channel in which Karunanidhi's family members allegedly have a majority stake. Kanimozhi alone is said to have 20 percent stake in the TV channel.

Balwa is one of the accused in the scam and his Swan Telecom was allegedly favoured by former communications minister and DMK MP A. Raja in the allocation of second generation (2G) spectrum licences.

CBI is probing if there was any quid pro quo under which Balwa transferred funds to the TV channel and in return got 2G spectrum licences at throwaway prices. Balwa is already in jail along with Raja.

CBI has been asked by the Supreme Court to file charges in the case by March 31 and the sources said Kanimozhi's examination is important for finalising the chargesheet.

The sources said Sharat Kumar, managing director of Kalaignar TV, would also be questioned in the next couple of days as he has already been summoned by the CBI March 8. Kumar has denied the flow of funds from Balwa's company.

The sources, however, ruled out the questioning of Karunanidhi's second wife Dayalu Ammal as she is believed to be a "sleeping partner" in the channel and "won't fetch any information".

I’m just going to give my reactions to Lindsay’s court appearance in real time:

*Bitch was late. Her hearing was for 8:30, and when that rolled around, Linnocent still hadn’t left her house. Rude, tacky, and disrespectful. Her lateness speaks volumes about how little she gives a damn about any of this.

*BITCH IS STILL LATE. She left her Venice Beach crack condo at 8:45 PST. Ridic.

*Twenty minutes late now. I hope the judge says she’s in contempt of court and drags her into jail by her crack weave.

*Waiting for cracked-out Godot.

*35 DAMN MINUTES LATE.

*Lindsay seems to be wearing a tight beige LEATHER dress with long sleeves. Black tights, hair in a ponytail, lips jacked. Gross. She looks like a hooker working a Republican convention.

*Finally, this junk starts. The judge doesn’t seem mad at all - I think he was in a closed-door meeting with Holley and the DA. Lindsay didn’t get reamed for being 35 minutes late.

*The judge seems to go out of his way to be nice to Lindsay. Apparently, Holley and Meyers worked out some kind of fake continuance where Lindsay has until March 25 to take a plea, and if that doesn’t happen, the preliminary hearings for a trial starts on April 22. The judge says: “”We’re going to set an interim date of 3/25/11. The only reason you will be here (and see me again) is to plead guilty to the charge. If you and your attorney decide not to settle this by prelim you don’t have to appear. The only date you will have to appear then is 4/22.”

*The judge seemed to bitch out both the defense and prosecution for leaking to the media: “I can’t believe how these things leak out, TMZ Radar Online, these guys ought to be in the foreign service. I don’t even tell my wife what’s going on, so I can’t understand how they find out this information. It’s not fair to either side to have these things leaked out in drips and drabs. It doesn’t benefit anybody so please try to keep any offer I make confidential.”

So… Lindsay got her continuance, sort of. She gets another two weeks to decide whether or not to take a deal, but the preliminary hearing has already been set. LINNOCENT 4 EVA.

Keira Knightley Cast in SyFy Neverland

Here’s something we never thought would happen. Oscar nominee Keira Knightley has signed on to star in a SyFy Channel original program. According to Deadline, the actress will appear in the mini-series Neverland, which is inspired by the famous Peter Pan story. The project will be a mix of live action and animation and will feature several other notable stars. Find out who else is on board below…

Knightley will join the cast that currently includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Friel, Bob Hoskins, Charles Dance, Raoul Trujillo and Charlie Rowe.

“Neverland centers on Peter (Rowe) who, along with his pals of young pickpockets, have been rounded up by their mentor Jimmy Hook (Ifans) to snatch a magical orb that transports them to another world â€" Neverland. This mysterious realm welcomes unknown friends and enemies snatched from time. These include power-mad Elizabeth Bonny (Friel) and her band of 18th century pirates who search for the answer to eternal youth, a secret guarded by a Holy Man (Trujillo).â€�

One of the interesting things about this series, is Knightley’s role. She’ll play Tinkerbell! Unfortunately, she won’t be onscreen in a live action capacity (a la Julia Roberts in Hook), she’ll only lend her voice to the character.

We had some initial apprehension about this project considering the questionable quality of some of SyFy’s projects. But we did enjoy their take on The Wizard of Oz a few years ago with Zooey Deschanel called The Tin Man. Maybe Neverland could be just as good?

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," said an announcement released Wednesday morning by office spokesperson Ellen Borakove.

Brooke Shields is campaigning for the bigwigs in Washington to pass legislation to help new mothers with postpartum depression. "There is an entire population of women suffering," Shields said in an interview on Sunday. "And it's time, I believe, for Congress to step in and prevent that, and actually save lives and save potential tragedy." Shields has been open about her own battle with postpartum depression after the birth of her first daughter. "I had gone through numerous attempts to have a baby, and then I finally did have this perfect, beautiful, healthy baby, and it all but destroyed me," Shields said, and added that if Congress passed a bill on the matter, it would be "an easy gift to give to women everywhere."
