Super Grover is Latest Hero to Get Costume Change

The world of superheroes are full of costume changes.  The creative teams behind our favorites are always tinkering with them, usually with poor results.  For instance, Wonder Woman recently received a brand new outfit at the hands of legendary comic artist Jim Lee, and almost everyone hated it.

Now another beloved superhero, perhaps the most beloved of them all, is taking a trip down the "image makeover" highway.  Today Super Grover, who has been entertaining children for years, gets a new costume with added body armor and a new name - Super Grover 2.0

"He has been upgraded," says Sesame Street's Executive Producer of the lovable blue monster who's starring in his own segments this season, which mix humor with lessons on STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts.

Super Grover was the first superhero I worshiped.  While I'm happy that he's being given a more high profile role in Sesame Street, I don't see why we needed to change his costume to do it.  And I really think the name Super Grover 2.0 is ridiculous.

See Super Grover 2.0's first appearance on Jimmy Fallon below.

Fear and Loathing in Sesame Street

Hard not like Hunter S. Thompson.  He is one of the craziest son-of-a-bitch to walk this planet.  Gfest always enjoys a shout out to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.  I mean any book that starts out, "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive...”  is a damn good read.

I can see Gonzo and animal as the main characters of a new Sesame Street full length feature.  They re-did Treasure Island for god's sake.

We could not find a source for this picture so please give us a shot if you know the creative genius behind this fantastic work of art.
